You're getting married soon, and everything is ready: venue chosen, caterer booked, dress tried on and adjusted, photographer scheduled... but something's missing to add a little extra spark to your day. What if we came up with an activity to offer your guests?
In Poudenas, the playground is big and there are plenty of spaces. Here are 5 original activity ideas to offer your guests for your wedding at the castle!
1) An escape game in the park
If you're coming from far away, it's likely that your guests will arrive not on the big day itself, but the day before or even two days before. You'll need to fill the time, and you can add lots of activities: swimming, sightseeing, walks... And why not surprise your guests by letting them discover the castle's park in a fun way, through an escape game?
Our park is...
15 hectares at your disposal
A walk in the shade of century-old trees
Views over the Gascon landscape below, with its rolling hills
Still not convinced? The concept of an escape game itself is great for your wedding!
A fun moment to unwind before D-Day
A chance to bring your loved ones together and strengthen their connection even before the reception: encourage meeting, cooperation, and getting to know each other for a wedding focused on unity!
The possibility of creating an intergenerational activity: get your nieces and nephews, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and best friends involved in the same team! Everyone can then contribute in their own way.
But so, who can create this escape game? You can take on this task yourself if time and resources allow, but for peace of mind, we recommend reaching out to a provider who specializes in this kind of game.

2) Wooden games on the north esplanade
You’re organizing a refreshment for when your guests arrive, so they can quench their thirst before your ceremony begins. While most couples will just set up a table with all kinds of drinks, few think about offering more activities: yet it’s the perfect opportunity to have some wooden games!
By making such games freely accessible, several advantages arise:
Your guests will be entertained and curious to try out these games, which will give them a chance to meet each other (as opponents or allies) and break the ice.
These games will go perfectly with the castle's aesthetic and will reinforce your guests' first impression: that of a magical and timeless place.
Kids who might get bored during this 'downtime' dominated by adult conversations will have something to do during this period, which can vary in length (usually from 30 minutes to an hour).
These toys are often very easy to handle and move around, and can be reused for your dinner.

3) Live painting on the south esplanade
This is one of the trendiest activities of 2026, and yet it's still quite little used here: live painting is a perfectly fitting idea for the castle and its Renaissance decor.
It's actually an animation where a painter who specializes in weddings captures a key scene of your celebration live. This could be your ceremony, your cocktail hour, your dinner...
But then why is it particularly suited to Poudenas?
The castle mixes different styles: a north rampart of medieval origin, and a south facade and main courtyard framed by 17th-century walls: the place's aesthetic is unique and timeless.
A setting between nature and culture: the old stones lit by the southern sun, the arches and cypress trees giving the place a romantic, almost Italian charm, the park with its tall trees surrounding the castle, the site's dominant position over the Gélise Valley, and finally touches of deep blue: those of the sky and the pool on the south terrace.
Sometimes very 'scenic' viewpoints, perfect for picture-perfect compositions: the iconic facade of the south esplanade, the view from the north esplanade looking towards Saint-Antoine Church and the village below, the red doors of the entrance porch opening onto the main courtyard, the 'guinguette' garlands lighting up the dinner like a second starry sky...
The choice is yours for the painter's location and the scene to depict! However, if we had to recommend a spot, it would definitely be the south esplanade: it’s the most iconic place in the castle, the one you’ll remember the most and that’s the most evocative. The huge facade adds substance and elegance to your cocktail, your ceremony... and becomes a beautiful keepsake once captured on canvas.

4) Inflatable games in the moat
This is an activity that you’ll rarely be able to set up anywhere else: at the castle, the moats are a gigantic playground, perfect for this kind of activity.
Indeed, since the moats are hollow, the inflatable structure becomes much less visible than usual, even almost invisible since the north esplanade is generally used very little from the cocktail onwards (if you choose another space to host it).
But then, what are the benefits of such an animation?
A perfect activity for little ones (and sometimes the bigger ones too!) who might start getting bored during dinner. The moats are very close to the main courtyard but hidden enough not to be an eyesore.
Easy-to-set-up structures: each of our moats has access to electricity with outlets. Just plug in the structure, no extension cord needed!
An animation that's more than original, both in its concept and its location: few will have the chance to say they've jumped feet-first into a moat!

5) Fire and light show in the castle courtyard
Want to end your meal on a high note and impress your guests with a personalized show? Go for a fire and light show in the main courtyard. At the castle, we've already had the chance to host Jérémy Canto, a magic and fire artist from Lot-et-Garonne but active all over France.
Among its incredible performances, a magical, dazzling show combining fire, LED lights, and hand-launched fireworks. A unique performance that is sure to amaze your guests, already immersed in the magical atmosphere of the castle!
This is the perfect solution to make a grand transition from the elegant but relaxed dinner to the dance night in the Billiard room. Enough to put stars in everyone's eyes, both kids and adults, and spark their desire to move.
