Photo shoot in Poudenas: a look back at the creation of a 'Garden Party' wedding!

In Poudenas, we don't just host weddings and professional events... at the intersection of these types of events, we also organize photo shoot days.
Last April 20th, we hosted a Garden Party photoshoot: let's take a look back at this event!
A photoshoot? What is it, and for what?
While a photo shoot is commonly simply defined as taking pictures of models in a given space, the professional shoots we host go beyond that. The common points?
The photoshoot does indeed have a theme, here "Garden Party" (reception held in a garden or park)
We are looking to get stunning wedding photos, from all angles.
We are indeed involving one or more photographers.
But that's not all! Here, a multitude of service providers, coordinated by a wedding planner, come to showcase their expertise at the castle.
The goal? To organize a 'fake' wedding and stage it from A to Z to make it appear more real than life, and thus obtain very high-quality photos that everyone can use at will.
And this photoshoot, how did it come about?
This photoshoot was an idea by Élisa Descotte, a pastry chef from Nérac better known as 'Les Gourmands Disent d'Elisa' (her Facebook). She wanted to show off her pastry skills by presenting them in an exceptional setting: that's how she contacted us! She later teamed up with two event planning professionals to develop the idea for the photo shoot:
Stéphanie Carrera (Stéphanie Carrera - Wedding Planner d'Exception Lot-Et-Garonne), a wedding planner who took care of coordinating all the service providers and the proceedings of the D-Day
and Laëtitia Lachi, event decorator, manager of the company Soleil et Mimosa (Soleil et Mimosa – Décoration évènementielle), who took care of all the artistic direction as well as the scenography of the photoshoot.
After a technical visit to the castle to discover the most suitable spaces for the established theme, 'Garden Party,' other providers were gradually mobilized and were able to work in real conditions on the day! Stéphanie, the wedding planner, managed to involve providers from all over the Southwest.
How did D-Day go?
Arrival and first preparations
The first step was to prepare the main subjects of the photos: the newlyweds! The models, for more realism and palpable love, were a real couple... already married! Marine and Julien therefore had to temporarily remove their wedding rings for the first photos.
Makeup, hairstyling, jewelry, putting on the dresses and the suit, the providers who arrived early in the morning transformed the couple (and the bride's mother!) for the day.
The makeup as well as the hairstyle of the bride and her mother were done by Eva Dall’agnese, makeup artist and hairdresser from Marmande: sa page Instagram
The dress was specially designed for the photoshoot by Anne-Laure Neves, a bridal gown designer in Bordeaux: son site internet

The rings were designed and provided by Zēphyrade, a Bordeaux jewelry house: leur site internet
Installation of the reception area
Due to the 'Garden Party' theme, the meal, the ceremony, and all the other components of the wedding were held on the south esplanade, near the pool: a refreshing and sun-drenched space... but not at the beginning of the morning!
The weather can be the biggest enemy of events, especially if they take place outdoors: and despite a forecast of high temperatures and bright sunshine for the whole day, the morning was tinged with gray and light rain, which only disappeared around noon... which complicated the setup of tables, chairs, arches, and other seating arrangements.
But thanks to the tenacity of all the providers (and a few improvised techniques), the installation was able to be completed in time for the photos, and the arrival of a blazing sun that illuminated the place until the end of the day.
Round tables were arranged by the edge of the pool, elegantly covered in white and adorned with crystal glasses, plates with delicate patterns, floral arrangements in fresh colors, and handmade stationery beautifully decorated with lace.
A seating chart, resembling an open sideboard, displayed the names of the guests attached to small enamel cups.
An audio guestbook, taking the form of an old rotary phone, was installed in the shade of a tree, waiting for the sweet words from loved ones for the couple.
A arch covered with light fabric, fluttering in the breeze, was set up for the civil ceremony.
An atmosphere typical of garden parties that the providers managed to recreate on this occasion!
The decoration was installed by Soleil and Mimosa: civil ceremony, dining area, seating plan, audio guestbook... All the spaces of the south esplanade were beautified by Laëtitia and her team!
The furniture was lent by NPA Events, in Eysines: leur site internet
The art of the table was loaned by Le Grenier des Mariés, in Ste-Livrade-sur-Lot: leur page instagram
The floral arrangements were designed and installed by Julie-Anne, manager of L'amarante pourpre, a florist in Langon (sa page Instagram). On the dining tables or adorning the furniture of the secular ceremony, the flowers have managed to withstand the great heat and to beautify the staged spaces.
The stationery is a creation of Atelier Orgànic, a family business in Perpignan: leur page Instagram
First photos and wedding simulation
As soon as the bride and groom finished getting ready, the photoshoot started... and continued until 5 p.m.! Couple photos in the guardroom, aerial shots on the terrace, arrival on the south esplanade, cocktail demonstrations and tastings, seated meal, wedding cake, a few dance steps to the sound of their chosen vinyl records, celebration of the civil ceremony, and even a special wedding escape game!
It was an intense afternoon that engaged not only our bridal models but also all the service providers: both craftsmen of this day and ceremony extras, everyone had the opportunity to showcase their expertise on the south esplanade.
Both photographers and videographers, Clémence and Paul-Adrien Larroque from La Rue des Madeleines (Figeac) captured all the beautiful moments of this shooting day, from every angle and with a lot of humor: leur site internet
The delicious pastries as well as the wedding cake were made by Élisa, from Les Gourmands Disent d'Elisa. Carrot cakes, passion fruit panna cottas, raspberry cupcakes, lemon bites... Many treats were waiting for us, elegantly arranged on the wedding cake table.
The secular ceremony was officiated by Marine, from the Gironde agency Animéa (le site internet). Words carefully chosen and that made sense for the newlyweds, almost united a second time.
Gabriel, also from the Agence Animéa , took care of the vinyl bar: from music of the last century to today's sounds, the selection allowed everyone to listen to what they wanted!
Together, Marine and Gabriel exclusively offered us a bridal escape game. Puzzles based on smell, decoding, or observation: the bride and groom and their 'close ones' were able to meet the challenges and obtain a precious treasure.
Melissa, Smail, and their team from the companies Bar à Brunch and Maison Virgin (Saint-Sever), refreshed and delighted us with their cocktail bar as well as their pita bar (leur page Facebook). Pina colada, Sex on the beach, Pornstar martini... Many cocktails have been reinvented without alcohol to allow us to refresh ourselves and withstand the afternoon sun. The pitas, filled as we pleased, were also a great support!
The structure of the arch for the civil ceremony was designed by SR Motorisation in Tonneins (leur page instagram) then set up and dressed by Soleil and Mimosa.
Dismantling and end of the shooting
At 5 p.m., it was time to dismantle: despite the fatigue and a few sunburns, all the service providers thus wrapped up the day, after having captured splendid images and videos. A beautiful discovery of the castle for most of them, and a real pleasure to host them for our team!
